Our Services

Stockport Together is a major transformation programme and needs to be worked up in partnership with the public, and we need you to help us to design a system that will best meet the needs of everyone within the community.

We want to provide a system that works efficiently and effectively, one you can rely on. We’ll do this by fundamentally changing our way of working: instead of being a service that, in the main, reacts when people get ill we want it to prevent people from getting ill or having a social care crisis in the first place.

To do this, we need to understand what matters to you. Only by doing this will we be able to build a system that fully meets your health and care needs. Over the last two years, we have been talking with members of the public and listening to your views. This has allowed us to ensure that the plans we’re developing will meet your needs.

During October and November 2017, a formal public consultation was carried out across Stockport. During this time we asked members of the public and interested stakeholder organisations to give us their views about whether or not to formally adopt the proposals as set out in the business case documents.

A report following the consultation has been compiled by an external analyst, who has reviewed all answers, feedback and comments given during this period. The report can be viewed here.

Prior to the consultation, during June and July 2017, we held a series of events to help you to understand the main issues we’re facing in our current health and care system. Click here to read the 'issues document', which is a summary of all the current health and social care problems we’re aiming to address through this work - this was discussed at the events. The report of all feedback and findings can be viewed here.

A copy of the presentation that was delivered at each session can be viewed here.
